Lisa McCarthy

Lisa worked as a Museum Educator within Leicestershire County Council’s Museum Service at Snibston Discovery Park before becoming a Specialist full time.  At Snibston, Lisa developed and delivered award-winning services for children with Special Educational Needs and recruited a team of staff as a Cultural Pathfinder.

She is a trained Occupational Therapist with most of her experience working with adults with learning disabilities. This background gave Lisa great confidence in grading activities; involving individuals fully in the process of an activity; and working with a wide range of individuals with differing skill levels. Understanding the importance of sensory exploration and its necessity for some people is a natural skill for Lisa.

Greg McCarthy

Greg is a fully qualified primary teacher.  Greg’s early career as an actor was spent mainly within theatre in education, often involving children in workshops to be included in plays. He went on to train to teach and now thoroughly enjoys combining these two areas of his skills.

He is a familiar face in Leicestershire,

where he worked for some years as a Project Leader within Leicestershire County Council’s Museum Service, developing and delivering history sessions for school children with Lisa.  Much of his time was spent teaching school children at historical Leicestershire sites and delivering the Outreach service into schools almost single-handedly!  Greg is now a full time Specialist too.
